New Delhi- Haier Appliances India is preparing for a significant expansion by planning to invest ₹3,500 crore to establish a new manufacturing plant in India. The company is assessing potential locations in the western and southern regions of the country, representing another important milestone in its long-term dedication to the Indian market.

This investment is occurring at a time when the demand for home appliances in India is steadily increasing, fueled by urbanization, rising disposable incomes, and a growing preference for products made locally.

The new facility will add to Haier’s existing manufacturing units in Greater Noida and Pune, helping the brand meet growing demand for home appliances while improving supply chain efficiency and delivery timelines.

“Expanding capacity to power India’s appliance growth.”

Speaking about the investment, NS Satish, President, Haier Appliances India, said the move reflects Haier’s long-term confidence in India. He added that the new plant will support higher localisation, create employment opportunities, and enable the company to serve both Indian consumers and export markets more effectively.

The project is expected to generate around 12,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to regional development and strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem.

Improving Domestic Production and Exports

Haier has continually prioritized enhancing localization in India, with a significant share of its products already produced within the country. The new facility will lessen reliance on imports and enable the company to respond more swiftly to market needs.

Besides catering to Indian customers, Haier intends to leverage the increased capacity to bolster exports to areas including South Asia, Australia, and certain regions of Africa, establishing India as an important export center for the brand.

Location Yet to Be Finalised

Although the precise site for the new manufacturing facility has not yet been revealed, it is said that Haier is currently engaging in talks with several state governments in both western and southern India. Key elements such as infrastructure, policy assistance, logistics connectivity, and the overall business environment are anticipated to significantly influence the ultimate choice.

A Clear Signal of Confidence in India

Haier’s investment of ₹3,500 crore demonstrates a robust belief in India’s capacity for manufacturing and its consumer market. As the company grows its presence, this action complements India’s larger initiative to establish itself as a global hub for manufacturing.

When operational, the new facility is anticipated to be vital for Haier’s growth trajectory while also aiding in India’s industrial and economic progress.

“Investing in India today to build capacity for tomorrow.”
