Yogesh Sharma / Farrukh Nagar -The Haryana Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has approved a significant amendment aimed at fostering regional development in the Gurugram district. In a meeting held on Saturday, the Cabinet endorsed the reclassification of Pataudi-Haily Mandi and Farrukhnagar, upgrading them from Low to Medium Potential Zones.

This strategic move is expected to stimulate economic growth, attract investments, and enhance local infrastructure, thereby improving the quality of life for residents in these areas. It underscores the government’s commitment to balanced development across the state.

Previously listed as Low Potential Zones under Schedule-IV of the Punjab Scheduled Roads Controlled Areas Restriction of Unregulated Development Rules, 1965, these areas faced limitations in land-use conversion charges and growth opportunities. With the new amendment, the zones are now categorized as Medium Potential Zones under the Haryana Scheduled Roads and Controlled Areas Restriction of Unregulated Development Act, 1963.

This reclassification acknowledges the rapid development in these areas, marked by the emergence of residential colonies, educational institutions, industrial units, and warehouses. The upgrade is not only set to drive further development but is also expected to generate higher revenue through revised conversion charges, aligning with the region’s growing economic prospects.

By prioritizing such transformative initiatives, the Haryana government aims to position the state as a hub for sustainable and inclusive growth.
