Zomato has teamed up with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to offer food delivery services directly to passengers on trains. With this service, travelers can now enjoy a variety of meals from their train seats, making journeys more comfortable and enjoyable. The service is available in 88 cities, and so far, over 10 lakh orders have been delivered across 100 railway stations.Rakesh Ranjan, CEO of Zomato’s Food Delivery division, expressed excitement about the partnership. He said, “We are happy to work with IRCTC to bring delicious food to passengers, making their train journeys more memorable. This collaboration will impact millions of customers across India by making train travel easier and more enjoyable.”

How it Works:

Passengers can order food through the Zomato app, whether they’re on the train or at a station.

By simply entering their PNR (Passenger Name Record), Zomato can automatically detect their seat and train details.

The food is delivered either directly to the passenger’s seat or at designated pickup points at the station.

Zomato also keeps track of train timings, so deliveries can be adjusted in case of delays.

This service aims to bring more convenience to train travel, offering a wide range of meal options for passengers on the go.
