Here are the 12 major infrastructure and development projects shaping Farrukhnagar’s future.
1. Chandu–Farrukhnagar Road Four-Laning Project
One of the most important connectivity upgrades is the four-laning of the road between Chandu and Farrukhnagar, designed to reduce congestion and improve connectivity with Gurugram.
Key Highlights
- Expansion from 2 lanes to a 4-lane divided carriageway
- Road width of approximately 20.5 meters
- Chandu Bypass planned to divert village traffic
- Construction timeline expected 18–24 months
The road will improve access to nearby industrial areas including Reliance Model Economic Township, one of North India’s largest integrated industrial cities.
2. Gurugram–Jhajjar Six-Lane High-Speed Corridor
A 33-km six-lane highway corridor is planned to connect Gurugram with Jhajjar, boosting regional connectivity.
Project Highlights
- Route begins near Harsaru bypass on Pataudi Road (NH-352W)
- Ends at Jhajjar
- Executed by National Highways Authority of India
- DPR preparation currently underway
The corridor will create a high-speed freight and commuter route connecting western Haryana to the NCR and the Dwarka Expressway.
3. Farrukhnagar Bypass Project
A dedicated Farrukhnagar bypass will be developed as part of the Gurugram-Jhajjar corridor.
Purpose of the bypass
- Divert heavy trucks away from the town center
- Reduce congestion in narrow streets
- Improve long-distance freight connectivity
The project was announced during the 2026 Haryana budget by Nayab Singh Saini.
4. HSVP’s Massive 24,000-Acre Urban Expansion
The Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) is planning a 24,000-acre urban development in the Pataudi–Farrukhnagar belt.
Major Development Zones
- Sector 3 (263 acres) residential development
- New sectors 88A, 89A, 95A and 95B
- Planned infrastructure including parks, schools, and commercial areas
This expansion is designed to support Gurugram’s rapidly increasing housing demand.
5. Farrukhnagar–Jhajjar New Railway Line
A 30-km railway line connecting Farrukhnagar to Jhajjar has been approved to strengthen freight and passenger transport.
Key Features
- Planned as a double-line railway corridor
- Part of the South Haryana Economic Rail Corridor
- Will connect with the Rewari–Jhajjar–Rohtak rail network
The project will create faster rail access between industrial hubs in Haryana and major freight corridors.
6. IGI Airport to Hisar Airport Rail Connectivity via Farrukhnagar
Another major proposed project aims to connect Indira Gandhi International Airport with Maharaja Agrasen International Airport through Farrukhnagar.
Project Highlights
- Route: IGI Airport → Garhi Harsaru → Farrukhnagar → Jhajjar → Hisar
- Part of regional rail connectivity planning in Haryana
- Will significantly reduce travel time across the state
The corridor is expected to integrate with the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, improving passenger and freight movement.
7. Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC)
The 140-km Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor will transform freight movement across the NCR region.
Key Benefits
- Connects Palwal, Sohna, Manesar, and Sonipat
- Links with the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor
- Reduces heavy truck traffic in industrial zones
Farrukhnagar will benefit through rail connectivity near Sultanpur station.
8. Daboda Mor to Farrukhnagar Road Widening
The Daboda Mor–Farrukhnagar Bus Stand road widening project is currently underway.
Updates
- Foundation stone laid by Rao Narbir Singh in January 2026
- Nearly 100 illegal encroachments removed
- Road width being restored to 60–66 feet
This project will reduce traffic congestion and accidents in the town.
9. Proposed Farrukhnagar Sports Stadium
A modern sports complex is planned by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority.
Proposed Facilities
- Basketball, volleyball and handball courts
- Kho-Kho ground
- Running track
- Multipurpose indoor sports hall
The stadium aims to improve sports infrastructure for youth in the region.
10. Proposed Farrukhnagar Bus Stand
A modern bus terminal is proposed to serve more than 50 nearby villages.
However, despite land acquisition in 2006, the project has faced long delays and construction has not yet started.

Farrukhnagar is witnessing rapid growth in affordable housing projects, particularly in Sector 3.
